One Brave Pastor

.

In these days of apostasy, it is so refreshing and exciting to learn of another minister standing up for God’s eternal Truth. In fact, one of the blessings of being a “Preacher of Righteousness” is that we end up meeting other genuine men and women of God, to whom we “bump” into on the Internet. Thus, when Bible-honoring preachers read the posts of other biblical ministers, we find ourselves encouraged and wanting to connect.

Some time back, I met a wonderful Nazarene pastor online. Over the nearly two years that I have been acquainted with this man, I have become increasingly impressed with his integrity. However, his recent boldness on behalf of God’s Truth has raised my estimation of him far higher than before.

Pastor Peter Migner shepherds the Deland Church of The Nazarene in Deland, Florida. This man of God has just posted a powerful challenge to the ungodly “status quo” of his denomination in an article entitled:

.

Theistic Evolution Verses Creationism, and Can You Spot a Heretic?

.

Within his article above, Peter is directly confronting a heresy that denies the Bible’s inerrancy by trying to force the quasi-theory of Evolution into a Christian theological framework. By so doing, these people not only deny the biblical account of a literal six-day Creation found in Genesis chapters 1 through 3, but also the copious scientific evidence that supports the scriptural record. In short, these “theistic evolutionists” deny the veracity of Scripture, and thereby undermine the very foundations of the Christian faith—while yet claiming to be Christians themselves.

Consequently, though many of them might be sincere, they are also heretics by every conceivable definition. Most of them are likely not even born again, as the lack of demonstrated faith in God and His Word seems to betray the faithless state of their proud hearts:

.

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven….And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock… (an excerpt from Matthew 7:15-29, NKJV, emphasis added)

.

What is most disturbing, however, is the fact that so-called “Christian” colleges—and even some ignorant pastors—are giving ear to such heresy without verification of the facts. Thus, many “Christian” educational institutions and pulpits are teaching what is theologically heresy—and scientifically, unfounded stupidity—despite the abundance of Creation science resources available to refute such manure

In addition to the links I already provided within the text above, here are just two more wonderful resources (along with two specific articles on each) to get you started on discovering how scientifically verifiable the Bible really is:

I also provided some more Creation Science links on my Ask Rich page, as a response to a dear sister’s questions.

In closing, I highly recommend that my readers support Pastor Migner by visiting his post. Please also consider submitting one or more comments thereon to add to the discussion and to attract others to his bold article.

  1. Rich, I am too finding out, there is a lot of us out there who are our true Brothers and Sisters In Christ.
I supported KCM for 25 years. I know the Lord has already done enough to redeem that time for me.
I live 30miles from the Creation Museum , come visit it’s worth the trip! Friends that share our home, work there. Holly

    • Holly, thank you for the wonderful comment and testimony.

My family and I visited the Creation Museum about four years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dr. Carl Baugh happened to be there at the time, and so we were also able to spend some time chatting with him too (and I have connected with him at other events also). He is a very gentle, but brilliant, Christian man of God. So let me “amen” your recommendation. 🙂

Thank you also for the KCM testimony. Though not everything Kenneth & Gloria has taught over the years is bad, I thank the Lord with you that there is redemption for the time we all wasted on the unbiblical tripe that they market for their own financial gain. Their “prosperity message” is probably the worst in that latter category, as it is not only patently unbiblical (and a heresy, when presented as a Gospel–Galatians chapter 1) but it simply does NOT work. They do not even try to “live” by it themselves, since their seven-figure salaries and other “perks” testify openly that their lifestyle is founded upon “selling” that message, not “living” it.

Economic conditions seem to be making this fact even more apparent, as their recent drastic reduction of Sunday BVOV broadcasts and (secret) employee layoffs (complete with signed “non-disclosure agreements” in return for severance pay) reveal that fewer people are “buying” their message these days… and that just may be “cramping” their lifestyle just a bit.

Regardless, we can all hope that they will repent and become useful to the Body of Christ; but in the mean time, that millions of others will turn away from them as we have.

Thanks again for commenting. You are a blessing.

      Always in Jesus,

      -Rich

  2. I am shocked now days when I go to church with friends and the pastor says there is no way God created the heavens and the Earth in six days and rested on the seventh. They believe it took him six million years and he rested for onemillion years. These people have slowly been brought over to the evolution side without even knowing. I say stay away from churches like that as they are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

As for KCM and these other mega churches, it would be nice to see them repent and their resources be used for good, but I have a better chance of dating a Hollywood movie star.

Thanks Rich for the continual updates.

    • Jerome,

THAT is one excellent article, my friend. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am approving your comment so that others can click over and read that outstanding call for godly preachers to come forth once again with conviction, anointing, and God’s Truth on their lips. I AGREE! 😀

May God bless you, as you continue to seek Jesus Christ through His Word.

      Always in Jesus,

      Rich
